Games to Watch Re-Cap

  • #2 Everett vs. Barnstable - This one didn't turn out the way anyone expected.  Barnstable seemed over matched in the trenches, and they shot themselves in the foot by getting caught spouting off at the mouth after making plays.  I think the Red Raiders most certainly has the ability to play with the Everetts and Brocktons of the world, but it'll take a more controlled effort.
  • #5 BC vs. Falmouth - Perhaps the biggest shocker of the week.  I didn't think Falmouth had the fire power to put up enough points against this defense.  I was quite wrong.  But what is most alarming is the struggles of the BC High offense.  They'll have to find a way to be more efficient offensively if they want to contend for the Catholic Conference crown, something I think is still well within their reach.
  • Mansfield vs. Stoughton - A good showing by Stoughton, but Mansfield has that familiar look to them this year.  They'll be tough to beat if they keep playing at this level.
  • Lowell vs. #9 Methuen - Methuen was able to shutout an undefeated team that had previously showed signs of being a serious dark horse contender.  Everything seems to be clicking for the Rangers.
  • Weymouth vs. Needham - The Colarusso's are the real deal.  Not only do they pace the Wildcats on offense, but they lead a stout defense that was able to shut out their biggest competition in the Bay State Carey.  Circle their match up with Walpole on your calendar.
