Big 12 Forecast

Key match-ups this weekend in the Big 12.  Texas-Nebraska is the headliner, but two other games will have long lasting implications as well.
  • #21 Missouri at Texas A&M - Mizzou has been a handful this season, outscoring opponents 177-56.  Problem is, it's been against mostly bottom feeders.  A&M is mildly underachieving, but still one of the stronger teams in the Big 12.  Jerrod Johnson is arguably the most exciting dual threat quarterback not named Denard Robinson, and the Aggies are 11th in the nation in passing yards per game.  I look for Missouri to falter late.  Texas A&M 41-38.
  • #20 Oklahoma State at Texas Tech - Tech is having all sorts of trouble on defense, giving up a little over 31 points a game, good for 97th in the country.  Not good news when your opponent ranks 2nd in points for and passing yards per game.  The Cowboys continue their win streak by a count of 56-24.
  • Texas at #5 Nebraska - I can't remember the last time Texas was un-ranked, but they are a very young team with a whole heap of problems.  Nebraska has redemption, experience, and a hot quarterback on their side.  Cornhuskers in a blowout right? Nope.  Nebraska's opponents boast a combined record of 11-15, with three of the five teams teams having two or fewer wins.  Texas has had to deal with three consecutive solid opponents, including BCS Championship contender Oklahoma.  The fairy tale ends for Nebraska here.  Texas 35-31.
